Ruminations on 4AM

A Poem by Anathema Herem

Bring forth words into darkness:

Worlds walk, living side by side, incarnate
in sleeping figures- stark-ornate,
filled with little despairs and joys.
Worlds touch each other
and pass; they align, and combine,
and fall apart;
Worlds die and are reborn.

But even living side by side,
do they ever truly see one another at all?

--And in the rain-wet silence of late suburban night,
I wanted to throw myself into the grass,
to roll and kick and sweat
until all the unnatural energy
running in my veins
was washed away.

Dear Ms. Herem (Is that your name?),

When I read your profile, it interested me to at least read one of your poems. I'm not a big critic of works but I always like to review a piece of poetry. That being said, I will review anything you send to me as a read request. I'm not familiar with this type of poetry, but it did flow well and had well energy; though remember poetry is a combination of heart and mind to form a collaboration of peace. At least, that's one of my definitions of it. Rhyming can help keep the readers attention too. "Worlds touch each other and pass; they align, and combine, and fall apart; worlds die and are reborn." I really did like these series of lines here. Thank you for sharing this work with us. n_n Kudos. 9/10.

Sincerely,
S. W. Scaggs
