The Freddy song

The Freddy song

A Poem by Anata
"

Nightmare on Elmstreet memorial

"

One, two, Freddy’s coming for you

His knife formed nails

Make a blood staining noise

Enter Sandman

Open up his daytime jail

Three, four, better lock your door

Your dream is were he lives

His rule free playground

A single door left unlocked

Will absorb your begging sounds

Five, six, get your crucifix

The one thing he fears

The mark of He who brought justice

Free the kids from real nightmares

Memories washed clear

Seven, eight, better stay up late

When time stops

Your heartbeat absorbed

And your life

As a bubble it will pop

Nine, ten, never sleep again

Coffee, coffee, coffee till you weep

And some more stay awake pills

He won’t get you

You won’t … fall … asleep

One, two,  Freddy’s coming for you…

Isnt that Johnny Depps first film? He is the boyfriend who gets killed on the bed. I didnt know that until last year... after that and reading this poem i want to watch the film again. It reminds me of days when horror film were fun... the pre-Scream horror flicks. This poem is free flowing and full of creepy fun. Absolutely loved it.

Wow!

This is really good. I absolutely love how you incorporated a nursery rhyme into a poem as dark as this. Makes someone wonder about the value of innocence and how it's slowly becoming exploited these days.

Very nice form and structure.

I love this. Thanks for sharing!

Loves,
Raven

Nice job1 i love the Nightmare on Elm street series. Great job on the flow, how the counting flowed well the rest of the stanzas. I like the imagery, of course how could you forget Freddy! Id have to agree with Sweet Temptation, definitely a great tribute to the movie. :)

First, I must say the title grabbed my attention. I love horror movies and Nightmare on Elm Street was my all time favourite. Second, I love your visuals and style. The flow was great. It was an interesting read from beginning to end and a great tribute to the movie. Im going to go rent that movie right now. Thank you. Awesome read and write. Im looking forward to reading more of your work. Kudos!
