Reaching outA Poem by AnataI’m reaching out Arms spread wide Embracing emptiness Feels so fulfilling Perpetual searching Left me in a state of mind Voices speaking softly Shouting to make me see I’m reaching out Can’t you see Trying to find That what’s already there Unable to accept Eyes wide open yet I’m blind Trying to hold on to Everything passed me by I’m reaching out My hands disappear into darkness The sweet feeling Understanding it’s long gone Venturing my cold heart It burns my touch To the bone forgotten And forever glued to my retina I’m reaching out Forgetting myself in the crowd Standing strong So weak I fall into remembrance
