A Poem by Ananya

Come
celebrate with me
before life says goodbye

Looking through the wine filled glass
all I can see is red
I heard long ago that it's the colour of love
I am not sure now
It looks like my dreams are bleeding
filling up every corner of my vision

Strange feelings filling my heart
Hatred for someone
Because my life reached here because of her
And love for someone
making me cry and smile at the same time

Join me
Raise a toast
I drink deep
It burns my mouth
Burns my throat

The memory of your kisses
Make me smile
I don't care for burning

It's fire all the way
Till the road ends
I am determined to walk

Good to learn burning inside
I can face the outside burns
With a smile now

I confess honestly, after reading the last two stanzas, I said "Wah-wah" spontaneously. This is an amazing one. Love has two aspects- one is full of happiness, the other is full of pain and agony. The opening lines are very deep. We never know what may happen the next moment, if we make a person feel pained today, and that person- God forbid- dies the next day, then certainly we will never be able to frogive ourselves. Coming back to your poem, love is all about burning hearts. First, in the fire of love, then in the fire of pain. you must have heard about Anand Bakshi, some of his very fine lines are- "If she'll reject me, I will die of sadness, if she'll accept me, I will die of happiness"- lovely, isn't it?
Amazing work there. I am impressed. Keep writing.
