A Poem by Anand Sehgal

We tend to conform ,
when we grow older.

We like to conform ,
when we are weak.

We choose to conform,
so that  we remain,
so that we never slip.

i find this ironically opposite of me...i have conformed less.

the older i get the more i feel i have the right to be me, to please me and no one else..

i am content with that..

stirred some reaction with this piece...i like a poem that will do that.

Wise words, Anand. You have a gift for saying a lot in a brief package.

thank you so much dear :)
I have a saying that I love to say, "we conform to the nonconformist." We are all SOL. :) Nice poem. Thanks for writing!

great saying by you indeed :) again thanks so much :)

I suppose; conforming allows one to keep their place in the tribe. As one gets older, a place to belong becomes increasingly important. Profound write.

thanks lot Leena :) much love back :)
Meaningful write. Personally speaking, I see myself drifting away from the people pleasing situations.

that is indeed an wise stand:)
Some do choose to conform, and that becomes their prison. Others choose not to, and that becomes their burden... a poem that evokes thought, Anand.
