Match Stick

A match stick is an institution ,

an anti-institution in its own right as well.

 

A match-stick is a possibility ,

a germination.

A match stick is a harbinger too.

 

A match stick is much bigger than its

physical size.

 

It can define sizes on its own.

Like fire, like water,

A match stick too doesn't have a

defined dimension .

 

A matchless entity has been  termed as the "match stick" ,

and thus has been created a pseudo-oxymoron.

 

I forgot to mention indeed,

A Match stick is a literati as well   !

So interesting. I have no idea what any of this means. But that's not a criticism. It's compelling. You write about potential energy, focus almost pathologically on this match stick. A diminutive matchstick is the precursor to so much. A raging fire that can destroy the world, a way to light the wick for romantic candlelight, a way to start a fire in order to keep warm....and all in that tiny matchstick.
