Principal : Ravi, why don't you want to go home during the vacations ? Ravi: Sir , My step-mom lives there . Principal : Does she hate you ? Does she beat you ? Ravi: No Sir, She has other kids . My dad sired them . Principal : But your Dad ... Ravi: I know, sired me too . I can share Dad's wealth . In fact I can give away all of them. But I can't share my father .
Children understand the universe so much better than an adult. It is easier to share the wealth that you have the capabilities to earn on your own. But the love of a parent is a one time opportunity and not easily shared with another. There is enough sibling rivalry among children born to the same set of parents. We tend to forget if we betray our partner in marriage the children may also fear they will be cast aside for a child born of a differnt union. To a child being born first or last does not guarantee parental preference in the hierarchy of love. A trust is broken when the bloodlines are shared. Trust is a child's biggest security in knowing they are loved by a parent.
It takes writing skill to pack so much thought into so short a piece of word artwork.

The saddest part is...by not going home, Ravi not only "shares" his father...he gives him away completely. The step mother's kids will have all of his attention during the holidays, and Ravi will miss out.
Poor, deluded child...

Lots of dreaming room in this one, Anand. Is the boy too selfish to want to share his father with his siblings or does his father have a preference for the siblings and neglect the boy. Very sad in either case. Enjoyed your puzzle.
