The Spirit We Must Maintain

The Spirit We Must Maintain

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

No worries Pal, Anyways,
Thanks for all good old days,
Now let’s part our ways ..,

Fasten the backpack once you
Stuff with food, love, clouds and rains …

Anything else you want too,
As much as you can,
Even the old dry piece of
"Childhood Sugercane"….!!

I am gonna go for the Yellow Stone,
You might wanna head towards
The Blue Ridge Mountains..;

Go far away, go climb the pink Zion cliff,
Lunge to take all the pains…

Lets Get dissimilated into five elements ,
As slowly as they grow, the grains …;

Lets free the souls from all the old stains ,
Humbly , yet with adequate disdain..,

The disdain we should upkeep,
The spirit we must maintain ..!!

There are those times when we must walk another path and put the old behind us as we move on!
And with this, our companions might have the same desires - one goes to the north, another to the south, and so it goes. The best outcome is that the paths may cross again one day!
An interesting write with good rhyme!

The old...the familiar...the new...hopes for the future...
It's all part of the crazy cycle isn't it.

Enjoyed it.

There are times when we all need to let go of someone or something - I've always had trouble with this. Your poem spoke to me today. I'm glad I found it.

thanks a lot Julie... Yeah it is tough , but sometimes we are left with no other option.
Childhood sugarcane... Hmm... I know what a sugarcane is but what do you mean by "childhood sugarcane"? That's an interesting and intriguing phrase. :)

Ah, a moving-on poem, a poem that reflects the necessary choices we need to make when wanting to move on. Love the line: Go far away, go climb the pink Zion cliff. Awesome!

A fascinating poem. I have never been very good at "letting go" of things or people - this poem speaks to me - urges me to learn to let go

No matter how strong the friendship or the love, there might come a time two people have to go their separate ways. Even if it is the right thing to do for both of them, it is a poignant time....a time of change which is never easy. "Let's free our souls from all the old stains" a wonderful attitude and if both parties are able to do just that, things are copasetic. Well written, Anand. Lydi**
