The experience of struggle somehow enriches the quality of an artist's work and himself. Find the truth in the struggle. I live in two worlds - science and the visual arts - which, while diametrically apart, have commonalities. As scientists seek the truth, artists seek the truth, too. The difference is that as a scientist, I have to back everything up with facts. The arts offer a different perspective... I've helped manage artists while pursuing grad school in the sciences... My observation as a scientist: In order to come up with good art, you have to tell a good lie in order to tell the truth.
Hope you have found your path - never looking for an audience but doing it for yourself.

wise words from you. For me, the search is on ! :)
people say so many things ,trying to "guide" others. but one knows what truly fits for them. an artist is fully aware of his own talent and his very own world he loves. no matter what others say, but when he pursues that path, he pursues bliss.
a very nice write with a good thought carved into it. thanks for sharing.
This is really awesome........art shows one's feelings, emotions, waving thoughts and lexis indeed. Truth should be highlighted in the art as well as the artist..until then, it doesn't carry any value.
It my feel that an artist can't help but impart meaning onto his work even when he seeks to only entertain. Those pesky meanings slip on in. Fortunately, wink, not everyone notices. sometimes not even the artist. Intriguing write.

Art can be a cruel mistress...but it is the artist's responsibility to tell the truth in his art. Thank your muse if you can tell it with beauty or with humor...but tell it you must, whether the unwashed masses wish to accept it or not.
That is the burden of the artist...

Yes, artists have to shoulder that burden, come what may !
I love it! I completely agree with Jacob. People don't want the truth! They would rather be lied to because they can't handle the truth! Thanks for sharing!
