Grandpa

Grandpa

A Poem by Angel Wood

Grandpa was a good man
Worked hard all his life
Sure,he was a Lil gruff at times
But lord ,how I miss that grin of his

We rarely heard him cuss
And he had a bark much bigger than his bite
Oh boy,could that man Hollar
Just doing his job...keeping us all in line

A country boy
He spent his life on a farm
I'm sure it wasn't always easy
But he just kept goin on

A man of few emotions
He kept em all inside
Every once in a while though
He would mumble "love you"
As he headed out the door

A quiet man,respected by all
A good heart
A simple man

A few years now,he's been gone
And still...
There are days
Days I walk in the house, forgetting
Expecting him to be sitting in his chair
I cry
