A Task At Hand

What happens to you when you stare at a blank page too long? Well, this is what happens to me!

There have been many a daunting page
During which I've said "I'll not do that!"
But when I've dug through the grime and dirt
It turned out to be a smash!

 

This isn't a "being stuck" rant
Not even a blank page poem
It's just my way of saying, get on with it!
Otherwise it'll never get done!

 

You chew on your pen or tap your keys
You bite your nails or pick your nose
But you know you've got to get on with it
Or... at least everyone else does

 

Everyone wants to see it
Your coddled and cradled brainchild
Your brilliant idea that was bursting out
We want to see it run wild!

 

Someone once said to me, "Don't be afraid to express yourself!"
I have one thing to add
Which might make you mad
But you're all afriad of yourselves sometimes!

 

"What if they don't like it?"
"What if they laugh and jeer?"
"Well I'm afraid that's just tough," I said,
"That's their own problem my dear!"

 

Because everyone else will laugh and rejoice,
At this great thing you made!
You did it yourself, through all the muck,
"So be proud of yourself!" I said

 

Only one more thing I'd like to say,
Before I finish this off
It just won't rhyme,
Since I have no time

 

But be glad of the imagintation you have!
