I See a Girl

I see a girl,
who looks lost and alone.
Nobody to turn to,
no where to call home.

She wanders aimlessly
looking for someone to love.
but when she meets him,
her past is all she can think of

She walks on,
tears streaking her face.
All she wants is joy
and the pain to be replaced.

I see a girl
so afraid of the world
and of herself
she holds it all in, not saying a word.

She is full of feelings,
she doesn't know how to express.
Pain, sorrow and loss,
heartache, fear, love and distress.

I see a girl 
who knows what she wants to be
She wants to be a friend and lover,
confident and strong, loving and carefree.

But she can not find them,
maybe they are hidden to deep inside her,
for once in a while they may appear,
but mostly they're just a dream, just a blur.

I see a girl,
her face becomes clearer.
and I suddenly realized,
I am looking in a mirror.
