Painter

Here comes the tiny painter

the buckets in her hand.

Her raven hair is flowing

as waves crash on the land.

her tiny toes are spreading

upon the beaches sand.

 

she reaches high into the sky

to paint the pale moonlight.

then over to the velvet blue

to paint the stars so bright.

 

her canvas is the sleeping world

her paint the universe

She the little painter girl who paints upon the earth

Beautiful is the wisdom of innocence! Reminds me of a part of the story "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" from "The Chronicles of Narnia". Remember when they landed on the island of the Star and his daughter? Remember how the table was always magically filled in the morning and how the birds came at dusk and ate what was left over? Something about your poem has that same sense of timelessness... Thank you for writing it!
