Chapter 4

Say hello to goodbye

Kaitlyn was in her own little world in math, she thought about the party tonight, she wanted to go, but then she didn’t. She knew Jason and Tyler would be there that’s one reason she didn’t want to go. But in New York she has been to a lot of parties, so how would this one be any different? Beside this is a really small town called McEwen, and not a big city in New York. Who knows what they even do at parties here.

McEwen didn’t even have a street light nowhere in the town which she thought was weird. Mrs. Fray wasn’t in the class room yet. And two guys were arguing at each other. One of them was a red headed whom name was Ryan and the other one has light brown hair and Kaitlyn didn’t know his name.

“You just can’t go off, and telling lies about my girlfriend Nick!” Ryan shouted in his down south accent.

Kaitlyn thought this is somewhat funny, this high school was full of drama she thought.

“It isn’t my fault your girlfriend is a f*****g w***e, my friend.” Nick replied hatefully. Everyone in the class room was staring at them. Still the teacher hadn’t come back yet.

It was time for this to come to an end; Kaitlyn opened her mouth to say something then closed it. But the girl in the last roll by the wall on her side, open her mouth to say something. “Omigosh, ya’ll are over here fighting over a girl. C’mon fight when school is out.” But they both ignored the brownish-red-headed girl.

Ryan punched Nick in the face, and like that Mrs. Fray came back in. “What is going on here?” She asked. “Ryan and Nick go to the office right away.”

Mrs. Fray turned to the class. “Get out your homework, and I’ll go by and check it. After that ya’ll are going to take some notes.”

After the teacher checked everyone’s homework she turned back to her seat and started to write math notes on the board. Kaitlyn turned to look at Jason, he smiled a crooked smirk that sent her heart racing, and her stomach fluttering.

She felt like something inside of her is trying to break itself alive. She picked up her pencil and started to write down something

Through the hurt

Through the pain

Through the confusing

Listen to your soul

Listen to your heart

You will find the answered there

Your dreams will tell you all about his past along with your past life.

She looked down what she wrote, it was a poem, and she didn’t even know she was writing that. She had no clue what it meant. She could feel Jason eyes on her. But she didn’t turn around to look at him instead she laid her head down on the desk.  She could feel a headache coming its way. She didn’t pay any attention the teacher whatsoever.

She closed her eyes, and fell asleep. This time her dream started out in the same mansion from her last one. She was lying down on a deep red sofa, looking up at the high ceiling. She was alone until the front door open, and Jason came in: in the same clothes as last time.

She notices his eyes were dark blue with a violet outline in them.  He walked over to her. “Your papa isn’t here right?” he asked softy. She shook out her jet black curls.

“No he isn’t Jace, he’s out working. Why are you even here for?” she demanded.

“Because I wanted to see you Daniella, is that so bad?” this dream felt so real to Kaitlyn, but he just called her Daniella not Kaitlyn. She got up and moved over to him.

He put his arms around her waist it sent chills down her spine.  The next thing she knew they were kissing. She woke up in the middle of class, dazed and nearly freaked out. She looked up at the black clock on the wall... it was almost 11: 45. Jason was talking to the brownish-red-headed girl.

School went by like a blur, by the time she got home, her phone went off. It was Hayden. “Hello?” Kaitlyn answered.

“Do you think you can come over tonight?” Hayden asked.

“I have to ask my mom.” She told her. “Hold on.” Kaitlyn yelled for her mom, she came down the stairs.

“Yes Kaitlyn?” her mom long jet black hair was up into a ponytail. She was wearing a short black dress; she must be going on a date with her father.

“Are you and dad going out on a date or something?” Kaitlyn asked. Her mother nodded.

“Yeah we’re going to Nashville, so what do you want?”

Now she wasn’t sure if she can go over to Hayden’s her mom might make her stay here to watch her little brother. “I was wondering if I can go over to Hayden’s tonight.”

It took a while for her mom to answer. “I guess so; Adam is going over to one of his friend’s house.”

“Hayden I can come over.” She told her.

“Bring a hot outfit we’re going to the party. Well, talk to you later bye.”

The Party

Kaitlyn was wearing a Hollister mini skirt which they called old town with a Hollister tank top, it was navy: it has chiffon ruffles; with a cute bow they called it Dockweiler Beach. Hayden was wearing faded blue skinny jeans with a black tank top. They both curl their hair. Kaitlyn didn’t see Tyler or Jason yet which was a good thing.

Alexander’s front door was open, leading into a dark marble hall crammed with bodies gyrating to Eminem...the foyer merged into a large sitting room with a high ceiling. His house reminded her of her own house in a way. Some people were sitting on the coffee table; others were on the deep red Victorian sofa. Kaitlyn hesitated by the doorway.

Her gaze meant Jason’s. So he was here after all. She thought. Kaitlyn and Hayden both walked over to him. The center of the room was filled with dancing bodies. “Hey.” Hayden said. Jason was looking at Kaitlyn, her heart was racing. She was saved when she heard someone called out her name. It was Alexander. An arched entryway led to the kitchen, where most people were drinking, eating and laughing.

Alexander was tall and thin, with silky dark brown hair, and he has chocolate brown eyes, he was dresses in a dark blue T-shirt with dark jeans. She walked over to him where he stood. She heard Tyler Lightwood shouted something out to her but it was too hard to hear over the music.

Alexander Madison was an 11th grader. “You look amazing tonight Kaitlyn.” A goofy smile was plastered on his pretty face.

Kaitlyn thought he was drunk or high"or even both. “Aw thanks.” She told him kindly. He held a blue plastic cup out to her. “What is that?”

“It’s Long Beach Ice Tea, its vodka.” He replied. She took it.

She took a big drink of it. “Uh, thanks.”

            “Anytime,”

Tyler walked over to her, she backed away from him. “What do you want?” She asked. Alexander walked off to talk to someone else. Tyler was wearing a black T-shirt with dark jeans.

“What? Now I can’t talk to you?” he answered her question with a question which she didn’t like at all.

“Nope you can’t.”  She replied. Kaitlyn walked away from him, and headed toward Hayden and Jason. When she got half way to them, Tyler got a hold of her, and jerked her toward him. “You got to be kidding me.” She shouted.

He lifted her chin slightly she felt his hand slightly trace swirling patterns on her cheek, she tied to push him away, but of course that didn’t do anything. At that very moment He pressed his lips to hers. “Now what were you saying?” he asked her.

“Get the hell away from me Tyler!” Kaitlyn yelled. “That is what I was saying.” Kaitlyn didn’t even see Jason move where he was at, but he was by her after she yelled that out to Tyler.

He turned to look at her. “Are you okay?”

“Y-yes I am,” her heart was racing again. He took her by her arm, she felt a shock ran in her that penetrated her skin, and sent her blood boiling. “Where are you taking me?” she asked him, once they were outside.

“Out of this party, you shouldn’t be here Kaitlyn.” Jason replied. She hated when people told her what she can or can’t do.

“What the hell Jason? You can’t tell me what I can or can’t do, this is my life, and Omigosh I don’t even know you that well, and you already think you’re the boss of me get real!” she yelled.

Tyler Lightwood

Tyler wanted to yell at Jason for taking Kaitlyn away from him, it wasn’t the first time he had done it, but of course that was back in the 1800’s and her past life. But Tyler wasn’t going to think about that right now, he walked over to his ex girlfriend. “Hey,”

She ignored him as always, she turned to talk to Alexander. Alexander was drunk big time, Tyler was close to it.

“You know, you're way too pretty, to be at my party by yourself.” Alexander said to her, so now he was flirting with her, he felt a pang of jealousy over that. Sure he still loved her, but there was nothing he could do about that, she hated him. He saw the look Hayden made to Alexander, she liked him! Tyler didn’t like that all. You think about now he would be over her, but he wasn’t.

Tyler ran a hand through his black scene hair.

Hayden grinned. “But now I’m not.” She bit her lip. “I’m here with the hottest guy ever!” Alexander pulled her closer to him. Then they began kissing. Alyssa Danielle walked over to him. Now he had someone to talk to.

“Hey Ty,” Alyssa to him, he could tell she was high and drunk at the same time, what was up with people down here. Half of the student at McEwen high smokes weed. This was missed up in many ways….

The song changed from I need a doctor by Eminem to Perfect nightmare by Shontelle.

Just tell him goodbye
Sometimes I should
But sometimes I don't
Build up the strength to
Say that it's wrong
Sometimes I hate
Sometimes I love
Sometimes I hurt
Sometimes I don't
Sometimes I wait
For him to change

Jason walked back inside with Kaitlyn when Shontelle started to sing that part. Kaitlyn looked pissed off. Tyler wanted to run over to her, but that would the wrong move to make. So he just stayed where he was at. “Are you on weed?” he asked Alyssa.

She raises one eyebrow. “Are you kidding? Ty!” she smiled. “Okay, so what! Everybody is!”

Not everyone, just stupid people. Tyler thought. He tied it like one time, but he isn’t going back down that road.

Tyler saw Alexander and Hayden going up the stairs, he went after them, but was too late, when he finally got to the 2nd floor they were nowhere in sight. There was no telling what they’re going to do….

Tyler pushed opened every door in this hallway until he found Hayden. He guesses they went to Alexander’s bedroom, and they were. They were on his king size bed, making out. They both didn’t seem to notices he was even there.

Alexander room walls were midnight blue, with some band posters, on one side of his room was a wall-mounted plasma TV, by his window he had a flat-screen computer that sat on a black modular glass desk. Tyler was missing with his lip piercing.
