Chapter 2

Coming to terms

After her 5th hour class was over with, she headed up to Hayden Evans locker; so far she was the only friend she made. Hayden was a cheerleader and every guy wants her. She has long golden blonde hair with green eyes, and she is pale white. “Omigosh Kaitlyn, Jason is looking over at you.” Hayden shouted out as she was walking toward her. Sure enough the same guy in her math class was looking at her again.

“Maybe he’s looking at you Hayden and not me.” Kaitlyn told her. Kaitlyn turned to look at him again but he was nowhere to be found. They went down the stairs to the basement, Hayden pushed the doors open and they went out.

“So the lunch room is in the elementary school?” Kaitlyn asked.

Hayden nodded at her. “Yes, see we don’t have one up in the high school, nor does the middle school.” Kaitlyn almost ran into someone and it was the guy from her keyboarding class. “Hey Tyler watch out where your goin’ next time. Jeez you almost ran into Kaitlyn!” she shouted, but Tyler just ignored her.

“Who was that? And he didn’t almost run into me, it was the other way around.” Kaitlyn said.

“I know that, and it was Tyler Lightwood.” Hayden sighed. “I went out with him before, but then I broke up with because it wasn’t working out.”

When they finally got to the lunch room, they both got their food then went outside to eat. The sky was clear and it was really hot out for April. Kaitlyn wasn’t use to this kind of weather, New York probably wasn’t this hot out.

                  Jason Night

Jason and his friends went out of the double doors of the cafeteria, he couldn’t get her out of his head, matter how much he tied. He knew this wasn’t good at all. He pulled the thought toward the back of his mind, until he saw her coming out along with Hayden, but he pulled his gaze away from her the moment she walked out of the doors. Jason ran a hand toward his sandy brown hair.

”Kaitlyn, why aren’t you eating?” He heard Hayden asking her.

“Because I hate school food, I always have.” Kaitlyn replied. “It will never change.” all she had was a coke to drink.

He stopped listening to them, after a while. He turned back to his friends. “So is there a party this Friday night?” he asked Tyler. Tyler was one of his best guy friends, they been friends for at least three years now. But it looked like Tyler was elsewhere, he didn’t know if he was looking at his ex (Hayden) or at the new girl (Kaitlyn) either way he smacked him in the arm.

“What was that for?”  He sounded hurt.

“You weren’t listening to me Tyler, IS. THERE. A. PARTY. THIS. FRIDAY NIGHT?” he asked louder this time.

Tyler narrowed his pale blue eyes. “Jeez, I’m right here, you don’t have to yell it out. But yes there is a party this Friday night.”

            “Good.” Was all he said.

Kaitlyn and Hayden both came to sit with them. He didn’t like this at all, he wanted to move away, but that would just be rude.

“You’re in my keyboarding class aren’t you?” Kaitlyn asked Tyler.

“Yeah I am, and you’re the new hot girl everyone been talking about.” Tyler replied. Jason saw Hayden cut Tyler a look. Jason thought she didn’t like Tyler anymore but it sounded like he thought wrong.

“Are ya‘ll going to Alexander’s party Friday night?” Hayden asked them. They both nodded. “It’s going to be the hottest party of the year!”

When lunch was over, everybody started to head back to the school.  Jason didn’t like Tyler hanging around Kaitlyn, because he knows how he is, and what he does. And it isn’t good.

“We should hang out sometime, and get to know each other.” Tyler told Kaitlyn.

“I would like that” Kaitlyn said softly. After that Jason walked off. He walked toward the double doors that lead to the basement. Once inside the school he opened the wooded door to his keyboarding class. Jason was the first one in. His friend Alyssa Danielle walked over to him; Alyssa is 5 foot 2 with short curly jet black hair with light brown highlights, and she has emerald eyes.  Her bangs were layers.

“You make me feel really short Jason.” She blurted out.

Jason is 5” 11, with long eyelashes and with a narrow mouth. He has a slim, muscular build body. “Ha…what’s up with your hair?” he asked her.

“It’s a scene hairstyle, trying out a new look.” She replied. The bell rang for the 2nd time.

 Kaitlyn Lee

After school Kaitlyn went right up to her bed room, she pulled her I-Pod touch out of her hand bag. She could feel a headache coming on, as she lay down on her bed and listening to Justin Bieber, someone knocked on her door, she called out come in. and it was her little brother, he is nine years old: his blonde hair falls into his eyes, he needed a hair a cut badly. “Are you okay?” he asked her.

“I’m fine Adam, don’t worry about me, I’m just going to lie down for while.” She told him. He still didn’t move from where he stood by her door. She wonders if he wants something, but again it was Adam.

“You don’t look find Kate.” He sounded sad to her. After a few moments later he walked out of her room and closed the door behind him, Kaitlyn turned her iPod up and changed the song to say hello to goodbye by Shontelle. She closed her eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

Her dream wasn’t any other dream she ever had before…it looked like it was the 1800’s. She was wearing a golden white empire dress; her dark hair was pulled up, her bangs were curl, and let loose. She looked like she was from the 19 century. Kaitlyn didn’t know why she was having this dream but it felt like she was at this place before.

Kaitlyn was in the middle of the woods, and out of nowhere Jason came into view. His clothing also looked like it came from the 1800’s. She looked up at the sky. “It’s like it’s going to be a bad storm Jace.” She heard herself say. She noted her eyes were a bright green color. Jason walked closer to her.

“Love, we better get on going before it hits.” He said softly. She nodded.

They walked past a big rock which has water running down from it. She looked over at it in amazement, but walked fast to catch up with Jace.

They ended up at a mansion, it was made of stones. It reminded her of something out of a fairytale; it was at least 20,000 sq. ft. Jace pulled the door open and they went in. the floor was hardwood. It was the prettiest house she ever laid eyes on, but of course this was only her dream.

Jace pulled her closer to him. “What shall we do?” he asked her.

Kaitlyn woke up with a loud noise outside of her window, she looked down at her lime green clock to see what time it was: it was nearly ten o’clock. She got out of bed and headed downstairs to the kitchen to find her something to eat. She found her little brother on the sofa watching the movie twilight. “You’re not supposed to be up this late on school nights, you know the rules. If mom finds out she will kill you.” She told him nicely.

He looked up at her. “Sorry, Kate but I couldn’t sleep. And the storm isn’t helping.” She felt sorry for her brother because he hates storms…she wonder why he hadn’t gotten their mother up yet.

Kaitlyn sighed. “It’s all good, but next time you need to wake up mom or dad .” she headed toward the kitchen, she found a box of Ritz Crackerfuls, she took a pack out and started to eat it. She could feel her bother eyes on her, but she didn’t say anything to him.

“Adam, you need to go to bed now, it’s way past your bed time,” She told him.

“Fine I’ll go to bed.” Adam replied.
