Chapter 1: First day at schoolA Chapter by Amy RichardsonChapter 1 First day at school Kaitlyn
briskly smoothed her hair with her pale blue brush and gave an overlook of her
reflection. Seeing a
gray eyed dark-haired girl with unavoidable, chalk white skin contrasted with
silky, long black hair she dropped her brush and smile wryly. My
appearance improved somewhat with the help of the black eyeliner my eyes
enhanced to a darker gray color. She thought. She wished she
had dark blue eyes, but she also knew her eyes change colors with her mood. Her
family moved from New York to McEwen Tennessee which is a really
small town…she hates it. Her outfit she picked out was blue jeans, and
a Hollister tee. When she finally made it to school, the first
thought went through her mind was: the school looked like a dinosaur, it was
really old looking. Of course it’s been here since 1940’s. The school is a
three-story but inside it’s really small, with a lot of windows or at least it
looks that way.
She saw people walking up to the high school from the sidewalk, Kaitlyn open
the door then went inside. She found the office easily. The office secretary
looked up at her. “You’re not supposed to be in here at this time.” She told
her nicely.
“Well I’m uh…new here, and I need to get my schedule.” Kaitlyn replied, she
moved right in the middle of 2nd semester of the school year, she
hoped she didn’t miss a lot. The secretary nodded her head, she had short gray
hair, with glasses, and she was probably in her late fifty.
“You need to see the counselor when the bell rings at 7:45.” She told her.
“Where would that be at?” she asked.
“Down the hall, it will be on the left.” She nodded like she gotta.
When the bell finally rang, she walked down the hallway, she knocked on the
wooded door that said Ms. Hathaway (Counselor) she called out come in. she
pushed the door open then went in. Ms. Hathaway has long brown hair with ruby
red highlights, her eyes were golden brown. “Hey my name is Kaitlyn Lee, I’m
new here.” Kaitlyn told her. The counselor nodded once.
“Nice meeting you Kaitlyn. Here at MHS is probably just like any other high
school, but that’s not the point.” Ms. Hathaway took a deep breath. “Let’s talk
about classes shall we.”
Kaitlyn moved her hair out of her eyes. After they talked about classes, Ms. Hathaway
printed off her class schedule.
The school walls were painted red and white, probably because it was the school
colors. She walked down to the end of the hall to find her locker. When she
came close to blue lockers, she found number 118. She
peered down at her piece of paper to make sure this was the right number. So this
is my locker, god I wish it was on top instead of bottom but oh well, this will
do I guess. She putted her three binders up, and then she
closed her locker.
Her 1st period class was keyboarding which was on the first floor,
when she walked into the class room, everyone started to look at her.
She walked up to the teacher then she said, “Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Lee and I’m new
here.”
“I am Mr. Kilburn, and you can take a seat anywhere” he said in his deep voice.
“It really doesn’t matter.” She took a seat by a cute guy whom has black hair
with pale blue eyes.
Her next two classes went by pretty fast. She headed towards the stairs
for her 4th hour class which would be Algebra 1. When she finally
found room 213, she went in and took a
seat in the back row. She realized she was the first one in there. The teacher
came over to her and then she handed a text book with a work book to Kaitlyn.
Mrs. Fray has long brownish red hair with golden brown eyes. She looks like she
would be nice but who knows.
It looked like everybody started to walk in about the same time; the bell
finally rang for the second time.
“Today y’all going to take some notes, not that hard.” Mrs. Fray said. Kaitlyn
could feel somebody looking at her…she turned to look at the guy whom was
sitting across from her. He has brown hair with blonde highlights, it looked
close to dirty blonde, and his eyes were dark blue. He gave her a sly smile.
But she didn’t return it. Instead she took out her hot pink notebook and
started to write down the math notes. But her mind was elsewhere.
At least he wasn’t peeking at her anymore. She felt like she knew him before or
at least saw him before but that doesn’t sound right to her. © 2011 Amy Richardson |
