Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Amy Compton
"

Lowering the walls to my heart to happiness, only to realize that happiness was disguised as pain.

"
Goodbye
By Amy Compton

I apologize, Babe,
But sorry doesn't fix everything.
You broke me once,
But I stand once more.

I promise,
I won't let my heart
Be taken so easily
My walls are built to the core.

Maybe another day
But today, I stand
My feet are grounded.
I closed that door.

I'm done with you
I love you no longer
I've realized what I need
My soul has begun to soar.

Goodbye, my almost lover.
I'll see you in the next life.
See ya later my long lost heartache.
I'll find another heart to adore.
