In Longing

I long for your eyes, to lock with mine.

I long for your embrace, our breathing in time.

I long for your proximity, the air in between.

I long for your stories, imagining the unseen.

I long for your words, your wise insight.

I long for your aura, copper ignite. 

I long for your presence, sparkling yet still.

I long for your optimism, your strength of will.

I long for you and all that brings,

The peaks, the troughs. Summer to spring.

I long for you and all that you are.

I whisper it into the wind, onto the waves, up to the stars.

I long for you, in the silence and the pause.

I long for you and in longing I will always fall short.
