The Fog Without Sound

The Fog Without Sound

A Poem by Amy..... "sing To Me A Spanish Lullaby, And I Will Get Lost In Your Eyes"
"

To close one eyes could mean to never awake....

"

The eerie fog creeps through the cypress trees
The beautiful sun is rising over the mountain
Though I can not enjoy their beauty

My soul was taken away last night
The hole in my body weeps to be filled
It bleeds for what it has lost

No one can truly know the anguish
The anguish that pulsates within me
The burning fire that consumes me

So many tears have fallen down
My face truly turning to rust
I feel my body turning to stone

A candle burns to light the way
In case my soul returns back home
Alas’ I sit and wait

Death is not too far away
But yet I look out my window
Again, the beautiful sun rises

Author's Note

Amy..... "sing To Me A Spanish Lullaby, And I Will Get Lost In Your Eyes"
So many tears... this was what came to mind the night my mother died....that phone call in the middle of the night when you are in a dead sleep.... you awake to a nightmare... pinching yourself doesn't help either.... loosing mom.

I like the theme here... still hopeful at the end. I'd rethink stanza 3. There are just too many cliches there.

beautiful imagery and emotions described with heartfelt intensity
I love the ending:

"Death is not too far away But yet I look out my window Again, the beautiful sun rises"

...it captures beautifully that feeling of disbelief you suffer after losing a loved one... how can the world still go on... why isn't falling apart?

beautiful tribute... I'm sure your mother is so very proud ~smiles~

the juxtaposition of life, new day against the darkness, the finality of death - you have redefined it in this piece.

The continuity of life, the loneliness of those left behind. I lost my own dear father in '98, and miss him still, particularly on Father's Day. But those we love can not ever die, as long as we remember them. Nice job.

Hopefully, those tears will someday dry. I'm sure your mother would want that. Thanks for sharing your feelings. Sam
