Finding one's way through long walks.....long nights....

 

Why does the moon shine down on me

I’m just another soul

A soul that wonders in the night

Where peaceful waters flow

 

The moon will light the beaten path

Her beams will glow through mist

I seem to find my way just fine

I seem to know my bliss

 

Though tired and alone I must press on

To find a place to rest

To rest a while my weary soul

Beneath the moon’s bright mist

 

The moon and I we shared a dance

Through out the night’s bright sky

Though morning is approaching us

She never past me by

 

She taught my soul to laugh and play

To understand my life

And stayed with me all through the night

The moon and me, “unite.”

I really like the way you personify the moon in this piece, and the close connection you give it to the narrator/reader. A twilight tone permeates throughout the piece, giving the moon the atmosphere we're familiar with.

I've always been a fan of the kind of writing style you employ here, but I couldn't help feeling that I wanted more from it. A few rhymes felt a bit ackward, a few seemed out of place. That doesn't take away from the playfullness of the rhyme style though.

Overall a playful piece that touches on the mysterious, well done.

this has a nice 'oldworld' poetic flavor to it - strongly written - crafted yet the meaning is not lost - it flows well, and is wonderfully visual. I hardly ever see the moon in the evening - but this reminded me of its beauty....
