I Shall Close My Eyes Forever

To close the eyes would mean I have to listen and not see...

 

 

What would happen if I fell in

If I threw my body into the water

Would I sink to the bottom

 

How long could I hold my breath

Would my heart stop beating

Would my soul float away

 

I feel very cold right now

I can not control my body

I shall remain on the sea’s floor

 

Tragic though it may seem

I feel more now then I did alive

There is no pain

 

There are no more tears

But you want more

This does not excite you enough

 

Simple words on paper

Honesty, true spoken words, or lies

This does not climax you

 

Alas, I care not to answer you

My soul no longer speaks 

Fires burn within me

 

I shall close my eyes forever.

...and there she goes again. Dude, you've got that fairytale did a frontal crash with harsh reality thing gseeping through your work, and it's beautiful. I mean, subject matters are far beyond serious, always grave in tone and surrounded by heavy layers and thick darkness that you paint up... the color schemes don't add much though, and that would probably be my only word of critique (if that's what it is?!?).
It's a hard feat to keep up the interest in a poem of this type when using the 'I' word so repeatedly, because at some point the reader is bound to either want much more or feel a little overwhelmed, but again it was very nicely pulled together and the structure was awesome (to sound all clichy)...
