Pretend

This peom describes how if you're smiling or someone else is smiling, it doesn't mean they're happy. "You can see many smiles everyday, but you can never know whose world is actually upside down."

Smile at him so you look happy 

When you talk to her sound preppy 

When no one is looking you can cry 

When no one can hear, you can scream and dramatically sigh 

Smile at your family so they don't question you 

Quietly cry yourself to sleep so they never hear too 

Remember to pretend 

Force yourself to feel okay even when you can barely stand 

Wipe away your tears so no one knows 

Look like a happy girl who just got a new bow 

Don't show them the real you, you'll just scare them away 

Hiding your emotions is how you will always stay.
