You, An anesthesia!

You, An anesthesia!

A Poem by Amrita Sharma Pokharel

It ached again

In the most awful way,

Ever, I’ve felt

My heart throbbed,

So deep!

The myriad time, like a mirror,

I broke

Leaving behind, no reflections

On those fragments

And, you barely noticed…

I grew up

With these shattered pieces

It was this trust

That bunched me, together

This immense reliance on you…

Your gentle touch,

       Divine hug,

And unfathomable care

I wished you were here

To wipe these tears!

But, when it ached,

My dear, I found

Nothing around me

I was in pain

And, pain was there in me…

This stillness’s

feeble to take note of me,
and can’t share this sting!

Hope binds me here,

And ropes me up,

Elevating…
the thoughts of ecstasy and the contentment,

You, an anesthesia

I am relieved…

Author's Note

Sometime, I find hard to explain myself. Myself when I am in pain. Sharing with you all, some of my gathered words to explain how somebody can cure a pain and we rely on them...without knowing whether they can actually, cure!
And it will hurt, when we come to know , they can't!

Yes, clearly an intensive representation of what appears to be an unfortunate experience of accute, emotional turmoil and I hope that writing this poem has provided a useful outlet for you. May you heal with dignity and continue to nurture your soul through creative writing.

Yes, it hurts but even then words find their way out to lessen the pain...

I hope sharing with us does alleviate somewhat the pain you are going through or have been through. Affairs of the heart cut deep into our soul and if we are extra sensitive can almost destroy us. Good write...thanks

An anesthesia would be nice to have around sometime. To relieve the pain. I could feel the pain in the words and the artwork was beautiful. Thank you for the excellent poem.
