Chapter Three

The dark King knew he needed to make a move on the girl soon. If he didn’t she would be lost to him forever. he formulated a Plan that involved her new Bodyguard. He reached into his mind and made him his but kept the guys will the same till he needed to make his move. She will soon be his.

Izara Awoke that morning with an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. It took her a lot longer than usual to get ready for the day and go down to breakfast. She decided that she didn’t want to see her father or the Arrogant prince this morning and ate in the kitchen with the staff. She chatted away with her favorite cook Esmeralda, a human female with dark brown hair and amber eyes and the kindest smile you had ever seen.

After she was finished she went out into the gardens like she did everyday, she was startled when she saw a man already there sitting under a tree with the overcast sky. After a moment she recognized Savan, and greeted him warmly.

“Good Morning Savan I hope everything is well with you.”

He Bowed for her “Yes my lady, this castle is wonderful. Thank you For saving my life had I not met you I surely would have perished out there alone.” He Grabbed her small hands in his large ones, Gazing at her with appreciation for what she did for him. “If there is ever anything I can do for you Please do not hesitate to ask.”

As they were standing there her father Came out into the gardens. He walked over to his daughter. “First of all how did your Ceremony go last night? And second who is this human?” the king said calmly.

“I'm sorry father I should have told you last night, this is Savan I may have saved his life. And the ceremony went well I am now a full druid, and I’m now a Druid of the Circle of the land.”

“You are so much like your mother, that’s what I love about you, always trying to save people.” The King turned to the human, Savan Immediately Bowed. “Rise human. You owe my daughter a great debt. So I would like to train you so you can be her personal guard. Do you accept?”

Savan was taken aback by the offer and so was Izara. “Father you don’t need to do that. I don’t need to be protected.”

“Izara I know you don’t need protection but I would feel much better if you at least had someone with you out in the forest. That is if he accepts my offer.” The King said gently to his daughter.

“Very Well father, so Savan Do you accept my fathers offer?”

Savan Knelt before the King and his daughter. “Yes your highness I accept your kind offer.” He said for who could refuse the high king or his daughter.

“Good man,” Said the King as he clasped him on the shoulder. “you shall start your training with the head of the royal guard tomorrow. I did forget if you have a wife or children we can bring them here to live.”

“No Sire, I have no one it was just myself and my forge.” The king nodded in acknowledgement and started heading back into the castle but not before telling Savan where to go in the morning, then disappearing into the castle.

“Well it seems as if you will be staying here, I'm glad. It Give us a chance to get to know one another.” Izara said smiling. “Well Sir I should get back to my training I’ll talk to you later.” Izara Dismissed him and he went back into the castle.

She Stayed in the Garden for most of the day. Only venturing back into the castle for food and to talk to the cooks  because as much as she loved talking to the animals they really didn’t have much to say.  As she was venturing into the castle for the last time, an arrow came out of the Woods and hit her in the Left shoulder. Izara Cried out in Pain and Grabbed the shoulder that was hit. She called out for the Guards that were usually Just inside the door but no one came. Fighting the pain she started walking towards the door when suddenly the world around her shifted.

Poison she thought, the Arrow was Coated in poison. She fell to the ground and called for help again hoping that someone was nearby.  Luckily this time there was someone passing by. This someone came Rushing out. It was Prince Ayren. He quickly assessed the situation Broke the Fletching part of the arrow off.

“Do you have clerics here in the castle?” He asked.

“Yes they aren’t far.” She said and gave Him Directions. She  tried to stand but the world spun worse than it had before. “I believe the arrow has been poisoned. You’ll have to carry me.” Before she even Finished the Sentence he had already picked her up and was heading inside. They passed a servant on the way and he told them to find the king and tell him to meet him in the infirmary someone had attacked the princess. After the servant Izara passed out and went limp.

After Izara went limp Ayren Took off at a dead Sprint and found the infirmary fairly easily. A cleric met him at the door and escorted him to a nearby bed. The cleric removed the rest of the arrow and said it had missed anything vital.

“Poison, Izara said there was poison.”  The Cleric set to work removing the Poison. But they had to send for a more powerful cleric. The King Rushed in and demanded to know what happened and how long she had been out. After he told him the rest was just a blur until the other Cleric Arrived.  The cleric did what he could and she said that the rest was up to Izara.

Prince Ayren sat By Izara’s side long after the king had gone, long after the cleric had gone home, and long after dark when everyone else would be in bed. He held her hand for a long, long time until he eventually fell asleep with his head resting on her bed.
