True Feelings~

True Feelings~

A Poem by AmorphiusX

You dipped your toes in the darkness
As though to test if it was cold
And i knew right when you shivered
You were more scared than you had told
I wrote my words into a life ring
Something to keep your world afloat
But against the strength of your nightmare
They wore a soggy paper boat
I don't know what the blackness told you,
What wondrous things it planned to give
But i watched as the light left your eyes
And with your will to leave
I screamed your name to pierce the silence
But you were to long gone to hear
Caught somewhere between noticed
And wanting to disappear
you once said you were scared of the darkness
And that you'd never learned to swim
But with it's promises pumped though your veins
You held your breath and jumped right in.~

One of my favorites I've read here so far! Fantastic imagery and very relatable. Keep writing!

I get a deep rooted felling when i read this poem . it truly is one of your best. A lot of the time writers feel when they write a poem that contains as much depth as yours they need to use advanced vocabulary to vividly get their point across. Your poetry is really good because you break out of that bubble!!!!! You use vocabulary anyone can understand and connect to . You brilliantly do this ......
Much love and happiness and warm purple light 💜

I felt this word for word. For being someone that can't swim, I surely want to take a jump in the sea now. Great poem.
