Piercing eyes....

Piercing eyes....

A Poem by Arielle Ann

Stabbed and pierced often

Flesh and thoughts alike

Marred and betrayed recurrent

Strange apathy - a lasting deposit!

Hopes implicit

But wrecked repeated

Currently numb

Arrogance facades passion!

Love intense and yearning

When smashed frequent

Now no veneration or abhorrence

Just Impassive and detached!

Neither music, nor melodies

Only piercing eyes, parched and blank!

A powerful poem. The eyes can bring joy or destroy a world if filled with sadness. I like your description in the poem. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

"Neither music, nor melodies
Only piercing eyes, parched and blank" There is such a haunting vibe to these lines...they really leave a dent in the memory if you ask me.

Remember reading this somewhere: "The eyes are the windows to our soul..." so blank and parched eyes to me symbolizes a tragedy so severe, so deep and fatal. that implies the persona is indeed seriously emotionally lacerated by the trauma of it all, and you brought that out so well!

Honed one!

Great stuff!!

When ones fears intimacy they better get use to being alone in the dark cause that is where they will spend their life. Very intriguing poem.
