Just another chance

Just another chance

A Poem by Arielle Ann
"

Mistakes never offer another chance...if only we were allowed to reverse back and make everything right again, how much better everything would have been!

"

A blunder I had done

I swear out of ignorance,

In a wild state of mind

A decision taken unwise!

When impulse surpassed sanity

And my thoughts lacked clarity!

But what do I ask?

Just another chance!

Yet they lashed at me

Tormented me like hell

As though am a villain

A fugitive from the jail!

Glaring at me with spite

Loathing eyes with disgust.

Forcing me to plead mercy

And to grovel for sympathy.

But my ego couldn't

And my pride wouldn't

Permit me to break

Or allow me to beg

So they did as they pleased

Pouring out their venom

Cackling at my tears

Snorting after my fears

Pushing me to seclusion

Thrusting towards isolation.

But what did I ask?

Just another chance!

Thrilled at my fall

For once I had stood tall

Now my tears their mirth

Their victory in my plight.

But as humans we are

Is it not accepted to err?

What had I asked?

Just another chance!

But no they will not

Since they are spotless (?)

But once it may happen

That you may fall too

And they will hoot at you

Then what will you do?

If society gives sinners another chance, I believe the world would be a much better place to live in...here I speak thru' the voice of a sinner...since the lord said "Hate the sin, not the sinner"

true enough dear but we can't change the narrow minded society..."GIVE ME SOME SUNSHINE,GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE,I WANNA LIVE ONCE Again".................

Sagacity pours itself in a determined flow in here...I can feel the stubborn state of the mind...just another chance...the perfect title!

The poem reminded me of Coldplay's The Scientist's music video...a mistake is undone by going backwards...

Great work here Anisha!

As a sinner in every form, a truly beautiful work, that is marvelously uplifting. Even gives guys like me pause for thought. And if it can do that...To be honest, it's the third time I've read it today, for once not due to WC going down. More the quality of the writing. Superb, so I do a rare thing and doft my hat to you. A class piece of work from a classy writer

beautiful way to express it... i guess so... to hate the sin seems the better way...
time is unidirectional .. and that's what makes it so brutally cold... what we can do is be independent of time as far as possible... to make things a bit better...
but a very honest and mesmerising write right here... :)

wow!!! very thought provoking...and yes I agree 100% ...this world is to cold and vain!! nobody is perfect and everyone is a sinner... if we just stop the madness of it all maybe just maybe this world could share instead of take.
GREAT WRITE!!!!
