Dreamland In life ~ Faith Regained

Dreamland In life ~ Faith Regained

A Poem by Arielle Ann

Leaning on his walking cane,
Hobbling along the crowded lane,
Not a passerby paused to aid,
He struggled on with his hopes unsaid.
Seated by the roadside in swarms,
Legs crossed and open palms,
Begging for a glance of care,
People passed, no time to spare.
There loitering by the temple door
Lying hither on the heated floor,
Wailing babies on the women’s lap,
Bodies bare, with a mere rag to wrap!
Tramps standing by the college gate,
Snatching on what lay stored in fate,
Nights of despair, hopeless grief,
Helpless eyes, searching for the faith to relief!
Despondent to life, with those looks forlorn,
Depleted of the breath even to sit and mourn,
Standing by the railway track,
Clutching on a note, with the child on her back’
Are they not one among us?
Children of the lord, yet aloof from the mass!
Fortunate are we, yet without a moment to spare,
Worthless are we only to stand and stare.
Come brothers and sisters; stretch a hand to their aid,
Mend up their lives all shattered and frayed!
Hail to the Mother, showering us with blessings and grace,
Faith regained, joyful tears at the once again reborn, the whole human race!
