Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon

A Poem by Angel Alli
"

Surprisingly inspired by Dance Moms

"

Beautiful, lovely, silver spoon

placed upon lush, pursed lips.

Fondled over and over.

Kept in a firm grasp.

Promises of greatness,

so easily attained,

but only for a few lucky ones.

Don’t be fooled.

Take a close look!

This beautiful, lovely, silver spoon

is covered in dents.

Yes, indeed. You put it so well, this most common phenomena. When small, I often had no spoon at all, and when I did, there was little or no food on it. The hands we're dealt can be vastly different.

I can see how this is inspired by dance moms Alli. I dont know if you are au fait with the saying "Fur coat and no knickers" but thats what this poem made me think of. It very cleverly written. I liked the wit in this.
