Wow, it just reminded me of my childhood. The dreams, the promises to self and others. That was a beautiful phase of life. We had the choice then of becoming anything and reaching any heights. But now, here we are, in a race with the world.
But we should still believe in our childhood dreams, as still there is a child inside us...:)
Dreams though unfulfilled make us do something great and worthy. It was not the dreams taken at night but they are promised for the execution of successful day dream...
Fine poem short and sweet one..
Keep writing your feelings with day dream opening your heart...
I think it is not the fault of our parents. They maybe have promised us the world, because they loved us so much. I also wish for my children the best, I have big expectations and I talk of them with my children. I think when the moment we don't have dreams anymore for ourselves and for our children, we are dead. To strive to accomplish them is a natural behaviour. To not succeed in it is only human. It's a very beautiful poem, but without hope. I suspect you will write a 3rd stanza to it, when you are older.
But very well done, keep writing.
