Solitary ConfinementA Poem by AmongSavagesFreeverseSolitary
Confinement My mind, A prison Inescapable by any means.
My emotions, Prisoners Locked away in solitary confinement.
My eyes, Bars Securing the outside world from the
monsters in my head.
My thoughts, The warden Roaming the halls of my mind, ensuring
my emotions will not escape.
The prisoners wait. The warden has fallen. The bars have opened.
The prisoners run wild. They pour out of the prison in droves. They rejoice: “Free at last!”
My mind, The prison Once deemed inescapable by any means.
My emotions, The prisoners Freeing themselves from solitary
confinement.
My eyes, The bars Open, showing the world my fears, my
passion, my happiness.
My thoughts, The warden Failed to keep the prisoners locked up.
The prisoners have fled. The prison is no more. At last, there is nothing to hide.
