Raging Soul

Raging Soul

A Poem by Shweta

People ask me,
"Why always an undertone of anger?
Are you short-tempered?"

I say, "No, I have a raging soul.
Like that of the sea
It knows when to rage and when to calm
Just like the waves of the sea
Each passing wave knows its tide,
From where it emerges and where it will end
The Sun, Moon, Wind affects it all."

"I have a raging soul,
Not that I am ashamed of it
It has its beauty in and out."

"So what it makes me looks reproachable?
Only the brave will know,
Underneath lies a kinder heart
A heart that can lift you from the pits of the burrow
And rest you back in your mother's arms
Where you will find peace above all"

"Yes, I am short tempered
If that's what you meant
A raging, kind one."

I've only wandered over the waves and the friend and the muse and the thousand other things you came to give a broken poet, but I do remember the rage and "the heart that can lift you from the pits of the burrow" Where limbs and life casts its shadow you were there and here...well now you've turned over the page for more. Muse we shall when the monsoons come and the child is sleeping and these eyes go back to the wilderness where they came...or after the holidays. Wonderful to have you back if only to finish my poems ;) "A raging soul" ?...Yeah, I guess I can see that. Happy Holidays Shwet-

I have the same type of soul.
It tosses like the seas......
maybe it is a symptom of passion..
I have my troubles with it,
but it is still a very beautiful thing.

As this World is turbulent,
and I have not been fortunate enough, to have many people,
in my life, who have been supportive.

I think you expressed yourself well in this, and I enjoyed reading.

Glad you liked it... Oh yes, support is scarce so much more when you have a passionate soul.

Thank you :))
I like the oxymoron in the last line.
A raging soul is one that searches, is not settled with half truths of what' inside.
When the rage is controlled we can move mountains without destroying them.
next to last stanza, first line...did you intend "look"?
I read it as that.
This poem has the feel of a raging tide that tips the boat but not all the way over...
just enough to send a message.

That was very deep and very well voiced. I enjoyed this, a way to see things in a different light.
