I stepped out of the shower
Just to see him watch me from a distance
In his lazy jacket and droopy eyes.
As if to say, "I admire you, your every curve."
Just like that,
I blush in that glance of him and slowly pull myself out of it.
He comes to me close and wraps his arms around my still wet torso
I stay; breathing in his masculineness that came with the wrap
I slowly step myself out of it.
He still watches me, now from the close
I see the wrinkles that adorn his now ageing eyes;
the familiar grin that has filled my days of youth and now old.
He holds my hands into his and smiles.
I have always loved his smile, the smile that can enchant my raging emotions like that of the sea.
He is like the winter to my summer.
Lazy, calm, refreshing and youthful
That fills our days of spring and autumn alike.
The newness of the youth and the agedness of the old.
Having read a number of your skillfully laid Free Verse pieces, something about this one caught my attention in such a way inspiration to express feelings and admiration tugged perfectly.
First off, as a lover of seasons, your title caught my attention; and, as a passionate bard, I admit the very first line had a good bit to do with it; then, reading on, I was struck by how vividly expressed you set each scene as it rolled through the mind's-eye with such image-laden, metaphorical enchantment as:
"I have always loved his smile,
the smile that can enchant my raging emotions
like that of the sea.
He is like the winter to my summer.
Lazy, calm, refreshing and youthful
That fills our days of spring and autumn alike."
Sheesh! Every line and verse is so beautifully succulent, sensual, and deeply mature in imagination and expression, who could ask for a more captivating script of poetry?
I thank you most sincerely for sharing your excellent insights and skills! ⁓ Richard🖌

A scribble is a scribble. 93 is as good as 9 or 3 in number. Quantifying emotions expressed as skill is far difficult to be expressed as scores I think.. guess you do a good job at it and me a bad job..lol always as far away from it as I can...
You take care and have fun light and ashes!

I just figure, now, it is a good way to reward writers on their ingenuity and skill, as well as putting your emotions into words in a way that can be understood and interpreted.
Also, there is such a majority of writes out there, now, that are just not very good.
And so I remember exactly why I frequented your poetry. Wonderful drip from the eye.Wonderful flow from your pen. Good to have your words back here again...keep keeping by all means. Poetry through prose, emotionally designed and once more, these images, this story pregnant with all that is patina vintage in unconditional. Absolutely beautiful Shwetz! Thanks~

Thanks dear friend.. means so much to have your words etched here for my write. Grateful!
I enjoyed reading this for the timelapse, the pure imagery, and how you called to the sense of touch with so much feeling. I wished the poem was longer, that the voice would have never ended. Beautifully explained and expressed. Tyfs
