The enclosed box of life

The enclosed box of life

A Poem by Shweta
"

A major part of your life is work

"
In the enclosed box of people, table and computers
Cabins, washrooms and kitchens
Whispers, talks and business
Lies something, something subtle
Disciplined Doors; physical and intangible
Life making the inhabitants
Some wary, some challenging
Some growing, some stagnant
The beeps reminding of the
ticking life gone either
Useful or mundane into nothingness
The disciplined doors teaching you
what to take and what to keep
and what to give away
It's subtle, the difference between
The learning and the one stagnant

Disciplined doors - I can't get over this, so thought-provoking. I probably would have made it the title, but after reading your poem twice, I see why it's not. The title should give insight into what your poem is about and yours really did that. Very well penned, tyfs

The box of life holds so much for us all. You did a great job!

I guess one can choose to be a simple worker, a 'jobs worth' or learn and progress and make something of your career?

I loved the idea behind your poem... Life's events and chores are found in this beautiful little poem by you.

Just a random scribble of mine... Yet happy to know what you think. Thank you
yeah! it's true it's subtle... the disciplined doors (workplace) teach you what to keep and what to give away. well, it is beautifully expressed poem and the conclusion was like parle g biscuit sprinkled with some rum. but this is not life although you can say that it's a part of it. But it is what we see every day. same people, same office but different challenges... :) Have a nic day

See now I think "a major part of your work is life"...or should be anyway..Stone the computers..water the fish and by all means set the clock properly lest you find yourself on time. This is truly inspiring .Shweta and just when I thought no one was out there turning their riddles into snowmen for fear of the coming melt, well here I find you with your ice cone and inspiration keeping it going! Wonderful!!
You've reached into a decisive pocket here , I see in this poem what I use to watch daily, looking to go mad and I remember asking myself "When precisely did the world go mad?" It was not on my watch...no surely IT DID NOT happen on my watch?
Well, turns out every generation employs a host of great metaphors in their life to tell themselves exactly what they wish to hear though their souls are rotting. We have done no less then to appease Moloch and in this, all our pondering are being attacked on the sass of a wonderful, wonderful abstract. You've taken your tangibles over and shined their silver with oil and care into the land of intangibles here, A land where all the best ones are quite mad Alice...Simply put.."Well done!"
