She

She

A Poem by Shweta

She is the night, the day
and everything in between

She is in all the shades of the clouds
in the sky and also in the hues,
in the saffrons and the violets blend
when the sun rise and set

She is in the cries of life of a new born child
and in the softness of it sucking the milk
from the mother's breast
She is in the roughness of the skin of an elderly
And in the words left unsaid in their eyes

She is in the life of a laughter
And also in the stillness of silence
She is in the pulse of a heart beat
And also in the warmth of the menses

She is in the love of a lover
And in the tears of a heart break
She is in the hopes of a dreamer
And in the exactness of the manifest

She is in the anxiousness of a bird
looking for the lost one in the herd
And in the certainty of the one leading
and also in the trust of the rest following

She is in the shimmering white floss
of sharp arrows
hiding behind the dark clouds
waiting to surprise you
with its majestic glow

She is the night, the day
and everything in between

I like how the repeat of the first and the last stanza rounds off the whole poem. "She" is the beginning, as well as the end, and, of course, "everything in between".

Regarding word choice, I'm not sure whether "babies" was the right word, if you intended to refer to the offspring of a birds chirping.

Great poetry.

Wonderful poetry. There is a dreamy quality to this, words sweeping and flowing in all directions (it would seem). There is also a preeminence here, not of solutions but of beauty and expression. There is generality to your words, but not so general as to feel predictable or too metaphorical. Sorry to say though, that one thing jars (for me) in your word choice - bird looking for lost one in the herd - seems mixed to me. Otherwise, everything flows beautifully and I really enjoyed your graceful poetry!

I hope it's beautiful and damned both..
I don't believe there is a writer alive that has not tried or written a poem with a go at the "She"...Who is She? and why does "She" visit so many poets in the night? You've done her a great honor in the details..Saffron?..there is poison in that there stigma when ingested in high quantities..the second stanza hit me the hardest...as "She" becomes almost immortalized in both the young and old "And in the words left unsaid in their eyes"...then back to being a deep part of each sacred aspect in the living..from "the life of laughter to the "Warmth of the menses"..very potent and feminine. "The exactness of the manifest"..which I choose as the images or things created from the eyes rather than the ship document although it works both ways. You put your back and heart into this "She"..the details crawling from every line and could be so easily missed if you are blind to this... but then again isn't that a part of "She" as well. All great works make poetry read easy and most are overlooked when first read growing their genius over time but I think this one deserves attention as it is a remarkable read..slowed down you'd swear "She" is right there behind you, "manifesting" over your shoulder and reading it with a smile because "She" knows what "She" has done... bracketed perfectly as well. That being the best description of what "She" commands/demands. ..an amazing poem Shweta !!

and everything in between....and yes, there is so much in between...she has so many roles to fill...i see a mother here...protector, leader, someone taking care of others often at the expense of taking care of herself.
