Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Ammy Greaves

Sometimes giving up doesn't make you vulnerable or weak
It doesn't take values from the morals you speak
Doesn't make you less of what you are
Doesn't dim your shining star
It just proves how strong you are to let go
Brave to take on the future, unknown.
Letting go of sure, solid gigs
To pursue possibilities of high risk

One shouldn't hold on to death, no matter how safe it feels
That's a true sign of being weak
Not being able to give up corps wishing to be free
Letting go might bring along an Easter it may very well need

Giving up might be the Christmas never had
Life never experienced,
Love never received,
Lessons never learnt,
Happiness never thought of,
Peace never dreamed possible
Sometimes that giving up
Answers what you were holding on so dearly for...
