Why IA Poem by Ammy Greaves
We usually question our worth.
Don't value our space on earth. We ask Why I, Who am I, Who am I to be loved? Hugged? Cared for? Missed and so much more. Who am I that God died for me? To receive love unconditionally That angels should be at my side To protect, save and guide Who am I that you place my needs before yours? That you should sacrifice everything for That you should go hungry to feed That you should go blind to make see Who am I to be happy? Joyful, seldom angry Never sad always cheerful Always a smile very graceful Why I? Who am I? Really wonder Why I not? Who am I not? Who am I not, to be loved, hugged, cared for? Why should I not, be missed and much more? Who am I not, to be happy and cheerful? Why should I not, be seldom angry and graceful? Really wonder, Who am I to question my worth? Why I don't value my place on earth? 'Cause I am wonderfully made Unique, simply great We blame others for our tears When it is we who give in to the fears We believe what we're told Let our self esteems get low We should never doubt that we are talented Cause we're even more we're gifted Never should others let us doubt Our values and what we are about Again, Why I? Who am I? I am me Unapologetically One stands in the way between me and happiness That person controls my sadness Why I? Really all I now see Is that my only fear is me.
