Flags

Flags

A Poem by Jstmds
"

simply a poem about flags

"
wrapped in a cloth on the day your're born,
the same old colours everyone has worn,
try to determine who you love, try to determine who you are
try to justify the hate, try to justify the war,
for a flag colours your mind
more than just black and white
but the borders for our kind

Very true words, boldly said. Not many writers would challenge such a concept that is so deeply embedded in our psyche, showing the negatives of such things.

Well presented.

Thanks for your comment! I appriciate it
There's no avoding them. They are evocative, provocative, inclusive, exclusive, rallying and divisive - such enigmatic pieces of cloth.
One thing's for certain - as an author once said, "You can't eat them for breakfast."
nice work Justus
