Black Coffee, Red Moon

Black Coffee, Red Moon

A Poem by The Flawed

The stars are sleeping,
Or they may be hiding, behind the dark moody clouds
The moon is blood red,
Like the whites of your eyes
Your tears have dried up,
Your hope has packed his bags and ran away to hide
So she is gone, and took your best friend and your home and your ride

The time is now, the moments here
To shake the dust off and cut free
No need to shout, no need to scream
Some times when you lose, you really win

With a little time and a lot of pain,
You’ll beat the clouds and stop the rain
The stars are shining, the moon is bright,
Like the whites of your eyes
It’s time to wake up, and smell the java
To shake the dust off and move on
You did your best, and that’s no sin
Some times when you lose you really win
