Mermaid Dog

Mermaid Dog

A Poem by The Flawed

I’ve seen the ugliness in beauty,
And I’ve seen the beauty in pain.
I’ve seen someone die in total grace,
And I’ve lived a thousand angry deaths.
I’ve seen the change,
From love to hate to indifference to pity
To sex to lust to dreams and back to love again,
In a blink of an eye
I’ve seen circles, squares, stars, moons,
Lips, breasts, fangs and claws

I had a dog that loved me,
And then she bit me, the B***h.
I once found a mermaid, who kissed me,
I held her and thought, that this must be every mans wish,
Then she went into a cocoon,
And turned into a piranha fish
Where was I?
Oh, the answer,
I don’t know,
I never quite understood the question.

oh this poem is awesome!!!

the line where u called that dog a b***h made me smile :)

and the line, "From love to hate to indifference to pity" (excluding the line after it), is how my relationship with my dad has gone
i was surprised with how accurately that transformation is described in such a simple line
that line either took a lot and a lot of thinking about it, picking the perfect words
or it came to you in a second and you were like, "nice!!, i really like that line!!, and its perfect!!"
(or thats how i am... i dunno if anyone else is like that)

What I like the best about this is the word placement. Your syntax is great on this one. this poem sounds like it's having more fun than the subject matter implies.

I love the concept and the deep thinking you put into this piece.

"mans wish" should be "man's wish"?

Great job on the poem!
