Love and War

An eye opened,

With smoke of unleashed regret,

In the land where they were asked to walk not to run,

A patriotic tear cried,

And the barriers of emotions got heavier,

A distance so far,

A land so dead,

Had no place for the heart that lived,

Author's Note

This poem is very close to my heart.It captures a story of soldier who is living his last moments and thinks about his loved ones.
At that instant moment his heart lives in a place where the only thing you can see are corpse.
basically his soul stays for eternal youth.

[Coyote Poetry]

I had the task with a few Soldiers to wrap the dead and freeze them after Death Valley in the first Iraq war. We felt a deep sadness. These were just men forced to fight. We knew their families were waiting for them and the families knew nothing. Soldiers are glad when there are no wars. Seeing death leave scars upon the mind forever. Last line in fact.
"Had no place for the heart that lived,"
