Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Amias Davies

An escape from reality,
It’s our last vitality,
Your remaining mentality,
The mask of lethality,
Away from a normality,
To hide the brutality,
A removal of formality,
A life of unreality.

A door for dreams,
For the ones tired of themes,
For those deaf with no screams,
Unable to find what life means,
Tired of being ran by streams.

A window for the insane,
A loss for the brain,
Lateness to the plane,
Soaked in the rain,
Burden that blocked the lane.

A city to rule,
No more looking the fool,
No more wishing the cool,
No more stressing for school,
For it’s your own tool,
Take control and rule.
