You And Me

You And Me

A Poem by Amhieann

You and Me
By: Mary Ann P. Bongalon

For all the years that I've been through,
No seconds that my thought didn't think of you,
For all the promises that we both made,
Were swept to the shore like marmalade.

I kept pushing to the hope we built,
But everytime I do it I still got hurt,
Where are you hiding? What makes you stop going?
To the place we both wish and dream?

I spare a thought that somehow and someday,
You will hold on to that wish we both made that day,
But it almost killed me when I knew the truth,
That in reality there could be no you and me.

Your poem reminds me that: unrequited love or one-sided love is love that is not openly reciprocated or understood as such by the beloved. The beloved may not be aware of the admirer's deep and strong romantic affection, or may consciously reject it. :-)
