WinnerA Poem by AJadeLionShe never stops winningWinner She’s tiny Not just in age, but in frame Her spirit and talent more than make up for it So young and small, with her sights set so high She’s competed for most her life Her trophies and medals outnumber most Anything less than perfection, she hates She’s tougher than anyone expects She’ll be beautiful when she grows up Many envy her perfect body and natural charisma It’s clear she was meant to do this She’s found her calling, her passion Something her parents always wanted her to find She has a sister One who is older, larger but quieter A competitor too, one who strives just as hard She might have come after her sister but she stayed longer She shoots for the stars Her expectations always out of this world Her dreams of olympic gold are larger than her Her bright eyes turn to stars are she speaks of winning She is so young Maybe too young, not yet ready to fly so high But for right now she’s on top of the world When she stands on that podium© 2016 AJadeLion |
