GravitasA Poem by Amduscia
As a heap of Cigar Ash, destroyed by Fire, no Cremation remained upon this Ash Wednesday. Ashen'd upon the pale-as-ashes Horizon, a lone tree with silver-grey bark and pinnate foliage, shone from yonder as an Immortal Flower in Elysium, encompassed by square-hewn stones of Ashlar. The Ash trees leaves broad and tapering, drew for breath, aspirating amidst the overcast sky, torn between black and white. The swarming, swirling clouds, full of lead, dull, and dismal, mature, ancient, almost unidentifiable, blackened and befouled, parted momentarily, alike unto thin streams of grey hair parted by a comb. A loud, grizzly groan, mourned and uttered in distress and grief, crying fretfully in terror, in grey eminence, a Grey Eye with a Grey Iris arose from behind Grey Roses perched thickly just behind the Ashen'd Tree. The Grey Eye as a Greymare dominated and dressed the Ashen sky, as grey matter dresses the brain. Grey Friars, and Grey Geese, Grey Hens, too, appeared upon the Ash'd blades of grass encompassing the tree. A Grey mist sweeped and creeped, as a Greyhound peeped from within the Ashes. Ghastly, joyless, unpleasant and unattractive hues soaked the view, holding onto it like grim death, blackened, and befouled... As from the harsh aspects of a Grave, a Greyt Griffin, suddenly tornado'd upwards, hurricaning through the smoke, a fabulous Creature greyced with an Eagles head, powered by greyt wings, greyting its tail through the overcast sky, enwrapping the Black and White scene within its wings... I gazed, and gasped, My greynadilla still in hand, in awe, as greyvity greydually decayed, My eyes grey'd with deep, violent sorrow, as corded Silk ended My World, enshrouding the gloomy scene, cocooning My sorrowful eyes in Eternal Sleep.
