Right by my side

This poem goes out to my father for all the things he has done for me. Im thankful to him for everything.

The day I opened my eyes,

I had you, right by my side.

Through every thick and every thin,

You have been there, as my only grin

You have picked me up when I felt so hard,

Given me hope when my dreams felt afar

I have let you down, broke your crown

Have seen you cry, have seen you try

I have been so bad; I have made you feel sad

Deep down my heart I never wanted to make you so mad

With every breath that I will take

I’ll regret each time I shout at your face

Nothing I say will ever suffice

But you should know that I always tried,

The day I die,

I wish you will be there, right by my side.
