FlightA Chapter by papermush0812-16-'15
Flight
Once as a child I fell in love with a bird Only with a song can't be heard As it flew to horizons beyond And every lonely hour grew fond That eventually, I left myself on the barren ground Couldn't dream the clouds anymore, couldn't soar But once a bird sang a melody A loudness soft, not new to me There, there across the crowd of trees A spectacle the world's eyes must seize Until the dusk closed the curtain Even that bird belongs to the distant mountain Yet the farther it flies Seems to carry my own flight to all its skies © 2015 papermush08 |
