Him

Him

A Poem by Amber Perry
"

Wrote this in less than ten minutes. Just a few thoughts I wanted out and on the page.

"
He thinks he knows
what he means to me
he doesn't have a clue

He thinks I love him
he's not wrong, but
that barely scratches the surface

I need him like air
I think about him constantly
my heart flutters when he's in sight

His hazel eyes are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
or so I think
and then he smiles at me and I know I was wrong

I melt at his touch
I burn when he kisses me
his "I love you"s keep me going when nothing else will

Maybe it's a cliche but I don't care
every word is true
every feeling is real

He thinks he knows
he thinks I just love him
he'll never quite understand
