Broken

Broken

A Poem by Amber_A

I'm broken.

No longer a whole being,

Only part of what I was before.

I'm broken.

An empty and cracked shell,

That was once full of love and life.

I'm broken.

Near impossible to fix.

Only grasping happiness for short spells.

I'm broken.

Can anyone fix me?

I don't want to live like this anymore.

I'm broken.

Holding on is just making it worse,

But letting go feels impossible.

I'm broken.

Will I ever find my knight in shining armor,

My handyman?

The one who can mend this broken, mangled heart of mine?

The one who can make me whole again?

I'm broken.

Author's Note

Amber_A
Wrote this a while ago for a class. We were reading a novel, can't recall what novel. But the main character was depressed; so we were to write about the deepest, darkest moment in life. The reasons for feeling that way and how it felt. This was my final draft, and I got an excelent grade for it. Hope you enjoy it! :)
