Memories of My LoveA Poem by Amber_AAs I lay in bed tossing and turning, That song comes on making it impossible to sleep. A flood of memories rush into my head, The emotion so strong I could weep.I keep trying to reassure myself that I'm over you. That you've moved on and that I need to.
I can usually keep you off my mind, Using any distractions I can find.
But there are those little things that send me back, Forcing me to remember you and the memories that I have.
As I lay in bed tossing and turning, That song comes on making it impossible to sleep. A flood of memories rush into my head The emotion so strong I could weep.
I curl up into a ball trying to escape the torment, But the memories envelop me like a raging torrent.
I see your breakthtaking blue eyes gazing at me. I hear your voice as you quietly sing as we dance. I smell your scent as we cuddle close in the cool evening. I feel your sheltering arms comfort me, quenching my fears.
I can see you love her, like I thought you loved me. Like I loved you.
I can on only lay here and wish you happiness, Pray she doesn't break you, Like she has in the past, And wait for you to come back to me, If you ever will. © 2012 Amber_AAuthor's Note
